The Cherokee Nation is hosting a series of business entrepreneurship classes in February that teach new business owners how to write a successful business plan. Classes are held on Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Claremore, Okla., at the Rogers State University Innovation Center, 1701 W. Will Rogers Blvd.
Brenda Alley, Cherokee Nation business consultant, will teach participants how to write a successful business plan, which can help new business owners secure loans and investments. The course will cover mission statements, executive summaries, marketing strategies and budgets that together create a basic outline of objectives and goals that business owners want to achieve. With a good business plan in place, owners can look ahead, allocate resources, focus on key points and prepare for problems and opportunities.
The classes are open to the public but seating is limited to 20. Registration is $15 and participants must submit applications by Thursday, Feb. 2. For more information or to request an application contact Valerie Diffee at 918-453-5536 or Valerie-roberts@cherokee.org.
