Senate Candidate Touts “World’s First Time Machine”

Posted on January 18, 2012 by Larry Henry in Politics No Comments

Rep. Jon Woods, R-Springdale, posted an item on Facebook today inviting those interested in time travel to attend a seminar by Ronald Mallett at the University of Arkansas on Friday at 4 p.m. in room 133 of the physics building.

Woods said he asked the university to fly Mallett, a University of Connecticut physics professor, to Fayetteville. Woods noted that Mallett has appeared on CNN and other programs talking about “his time machine theories.”

“We are looking at building the world’s first time machine on campus in Fayetteville using lasers to twist space,” Woods wrote on Facebook.

Woods is running in the May 22 primary election against the only other announced Republican, Sen. Bill Pritchard, R-Elkins, for the Senate District 7 seat.
