Legislators on Obamacare too

Posted on March 26, 2012 by Mike Masterson in Opinion No Comments

I just gotta say readers that if this Obamacare mess is foisted (strong-armed is a better word) upon American citizens by congress, then congress, the senate and the administration all need to live under the same provisions and have to shell out the same expenses as those of us who elected them to pile this upon our already weary and overloaded backs.

These elected “public servants” certainly deserve no more or less than the rest of the Americans who sent them to Washington to govern fairly. Although many of these people become deluded into believing once they arrive inside the rarified atmosphere of the D.C. Beltway, that they have attained the sttus of roaylty, nothing could be farther from the truth when it comes to we who sent them there.

They have not earned, no do they deserve special limousine service, free trips on tax-aupported airplanes or exorbitant salaries and perks. They have earned the right to serve -period. This also means they don’t deserve special health care treatment that surpasses anything the rest of America and its stressed citizens must live with.

I mean, these are people , like for example, our U.S. Senate who cannot even pass a budget for our tax dollars in three years, mainly because of the roadblocks thrown up by Democrat Senator and senate majority leader Harry Reed of Nevada (by the way, thanks so much Nevada for giving America this guy), come to view themselves as special not long after arriving in D.C. and it only gets worse with each back slapping, self-serving meeting they share, especially with those hosted by the wine-and-dine lobbyists.

But I digress- sorta. I’m only saying don’t you legislators be stacking all these requirements and dictates and impositions and un-Godly expenses on the rest of us that you aren’t ready, eager and willing to embrace yourself . What’s good for the D.C. goose is good for all Americans’ gander. ‘Nuff said.
