Kennametal Inc. announced that its Rogers facility reached three million hours without a lost time accident. Wednesday Kennametal’s Rogers facility employees were presented the “Three Million Work Hours Safety Award.” This award, given by the Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission and the Arkansas Insurance Department, recognizes facilities that have worked three million hours without a lost time accident.
“Safety is a priority at Kennametal because it ensures we are protecting our most valuable asset — our people — everyday,” Glenn Saylor, Kennametal Rogers plant manager, said in a press release.
Kennametal was recently named one of America’s Safest Companies by EHS Today Magazine. The company’s 100 percent Safe objectives are carried out through initiatives such as Management Based Safety, which engages the company’s management team in leading safety processes, and a progressive Environmental, Health and Safety organization.
Kennametal’s Rogers facility opened in 1953 and employs more than 400 people. The factory manufactures round tool blanks, energy compacts, substrates wear parts, pelletizing dies and powdered metal.
