Some anxious Republican candidates were waiting at the Washington County Republican watch party at the Springdale Holiday Inn and Convention Center on Tuesday night. Early vote totals showing them with leads weren’t much comfort to Micah Neal of Springdale, state House candidate, and Senate hopeful Jon Woods, also of Springdale.
The party was largely silent as President Obama’s re-election was announced. County chairman Jim Reavis went to the podium and reminded them that four years ago, they were down to one Republican in the state’s congressional delegation. Now they will have five of six.
