New at Second Street Live: James McMurtry and a change in direction

Posted on November 16, 2012 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

James McMurtry

Second Street Live brought in a full slate of performers last year, including shows by Ray Wylie Hubbard, Elizabeth Cook and more.

It’s been quiet this year, until now.

Recently, the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith agreed to a lease-purchase agreement on the facility on Second Street. Second Street Live hopes to return by renting out the space for several evenings next spring for a six- or seven-show season.

Until those tentative dates are confirmed, no additional SSL shows are being announced for the facility — now being called UAFS at Second Street. The university, however, will continue to use the space regularly.

In the meantime, Second Street Live is bringing in a performer for a show this weekend. James McMurtry will perform there at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 17). Admission is $25.
