Notice how swiftly country music is sweeping into Northwest Arkansas, at least in terms of concerts? Notice how most of the biggest live music events this year (Alan Jackson, Miranda Lamber, Hank Williams Jr., etc…) were all country shows?
We sure did.
Which is the rationale for my latest Listen Here! column, available online [Subscriber content] or in today’s What’s Up! section, which runs in all five of the Northwest Arkansas Media daily newspapers.
The major premise of the column discusses how the recent shift by promoters to country music concerts — and Northwest Arkansas’ overwhelming response — is changing the concert marketplace. Involved in that conversation, of course, is the newly announced Thunder on the Mountain Music Festival, which promises to bring thousands to this area.
