The weekend in music, with Bartin Memberg and more

Posted on November 23, 2012 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

Bartin Memberg

This is the kind of Black Friday deal I like.

It combines staying in bed a little later, listening to music and avoiding the mall.

Former Memphis Pencils member Martin Bemberg recently released a new EP under the name Bartin Memberg. The album “Ready For The Good Things,” was recorded this fall in Austin, Texas and Fayetteville and is available digitally. Memberg will perform during a Black Friday sale and release party this morning at Sound Warehouse in Fayetteville. The show begins at 11 a.m. (that’s later this morning) and is free.

For those of you in town, and not out visiting somewhere, there are several concerts of note this weekend.

Not in the Face, for instance, has a Saturday night (Nov. 24) show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern. Boom! Kinetic has a two-show run at George’s Majestic Lounge, with appearances both tonight and Saturday.

Acoustic Mud in Bella Vista is hosting their first Sunday (Nov. 25) show. Keith Nicholson has the honors.

Elsewhere, I suggest looking at the guide to the right of this blog. There’s a gig listing there.

See you at a show or two?
