What a busy weekend. There’s plenty of holiday parties to celebrate, and you can find a list of them in our print edition, What’s Up!

And, thankfully, there’s plenty of noteworthy shows this weekend as well.

Louisiana blues guitarist Tab Benoit visits Fayetteville on Sunday (Dec. 2) for a show at George’s Majestic Lounge. Benoit has recorded more than a dozen albums on his own and in 2011 was featured as part of the Voice of the Wetlands Allstars, a group of Louisiana musicians playing for restoration of the Gulf Coast. He was also named Entertainer of the Year at the 2012 Blues Music Awards. Tickets to Benoit’s 9 p.m. show are $15 and are available through www.georgesmajesticlounge.com.

Also on Sunday is the second day of the Festivus for the Rest of Us, a two-day metal event at the Showcase Theater inside the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville.

Ohio metal band Like Moths to Flames are among the headliners for Festivus (with no word on featuring Feats of Strength), a two-day event at the Showcase Theater. The band, which just released a deluxe edition of their 2011 album “When We Don’t Exist,” will perform Sunday. Joining them during the event, which takes place Saturday (Dec. 1) and Sunday, are bands such as Those that Remain, Fit For a King and nearly a dozen more. Details and tickets, which are $7-$14, can be found via www.arkansaslivemusic.com.

Elsewhere, video game music rules the stage tonight (Nov. 30) at Smoke & Barrel Tavern with performances by Brentalfloss, Lucio and The OneUps.

And trumpeter Sean Jones, regarded as an up-and-coming jazz talent, will perform a pair of shows on Saturday at the Walton Arts Center. The shows are at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets, which are available online, are $26-$36.

Got something else on your radar? Let us know.
