Republican rank and file expressed strong dissatisfaction to state House speaker-elect Rep. Davy Carter, R-Cabot, at a meet and greet Thursday at Neal’s Cafe.
“Carter spoke for almost an hour with about 30 people, most Republicans, at the popular Springdale restaurant. He took questions in an open forum, then met with attendees one-on-one afterward. Attendees said they were furious — their word — at his decision to keep senior Democrats on House staff and refuse to vow to fight federal health care reform. Tough meeting, but Carter answered all questions and even said after the meeting that he would come back.
