The weekend in music, with the First Ornaments of Christmas and more

Posted on December 21, 2012 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

First Ornaments of Christmas

Well, ready or not, it’s the (extended) Christmas weekend. With Christmas on Tuesday, many of your are planning a trip or already on your way.

For those of you still around, how about some Christmas music?

For a lack of a better description, the group First Ornaments of Christmas refer to themselves as a “Christmas-indie-classical-multimedia-rock-opera” project. The 11-piece Northwest Arkansas band will bring their live show and a production featuring animated footage to George’s Majestic Lounge on Sunday night. Admission to the 9 p.m. show is $5.

Or, if you’re one of the folks who aren’t worrying about Christmas because you’re convinced the end of the world is coming tonight (Dec. 21), there’s an End of the World Party at George’s. It involves the bands Tyrannosaurus Chicken and Don’t Stop Please. Admission to the 9 p.m. show is $6.

Elsewhere, Earl and Them are playing a couple shows: Tonight at Victory Theater in Rogers and Saturday (Dec. 22) at George’s. Tonight’s show comes as part of an end of the world concert and also features The Lost Gonzo Duo from Austin, Texas and locals Candy Lee and the Sweets. Saturday’s show features Earl and Them as headliners.

What’s on your agenda?
