A fond farewell to 2012

Posted on December 28, 2012 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

Goodbye, 2012.

Almost, anyway.

We’re within a few hours of the end of this year, which, speaking on a personal level, was a pretty good one.

Randall Shreve and the Sideshow are headlining Last Night Fayetteville, one of many New Year’s Eve events in Northwest Arkansas.

So, maybe a celebration is in order. Here’s a brief roundup of some of the New Year’s Eve events in the area:

• The duo of Greg Faiers and Marty Faiers (the latter a Fayetteville native) play a wide mix of American styles. Known onstage as Dead Irish Blues, the pair visits Fayetteville from their home in Pennsylvania for a New Year’s Eve show at the Tanglewood Branch Beer Co. Admission to the 9 p.m. show is free.

• In case those in Eureka Springs are ready to celebrate the New Year extra early, Northwest Arkansas trio Big Bad Gina will perform at 9 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 30) at the Voulez Vous Lounge in Eureka Springs. Admission is $5. On Monday night, when the band is joined for a 9 p.m. show at the same venue by Joe Credit, admission is $15. There will be hourly prizes and a champagne toast at midnight during the second of the two shows.

• Ben Miller Band, Dumptruck Butterlips and 1 Oz. Jig will usher in the New Year at George’s Majestic Lounge. Admission is $12.

• Last Night Fayetteville will take over the downtown square. 3 Penny Acre and Randall Shreve and the Sideshow are among those expected to perform. Read more about Last Night in today’s What’s Up! section [Note: Subscriber content].

• The Keith Nicholson Trio will rock out at Legacy Blues in Fayetteville.

• Thunderlizards are the headliner of a multiband bill at The Lightbulb Club.

Where are you headed for New Year’s Eve?

A fond farewell to 2012
