Take a look at George’s new stage

Posted on January 16, 2013 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

George’s Majestic Lounge’s new stage

George’s Majestic Lounge did not getting any larger, at least not on the side of the stage designated for music fans. For those patrons, it will in many ways still be the same frequently packed, 700-attendee-maximum club atmosphere.

But for bands? That’s another story.

Recent upgrades at the Dickson Street staple created a proper green room, a private shower and other amenities for visiting bands. On the technical side, upgrades to the electrical system will make setup much faster for bands.

Venue co-owner and manager Brian Crowne chatted with me about the additions and what they mean for the club. He hopes two primary things happen: That patrons can see bands better courtesy of a taller stage and that big-name bands will be more interested in playing the club.

Read more about the new setup in a recent story we published in What’s Up!, our arts and entertainment section. [Note: Subscriber content]

See you at a show there soon.
