Waka Winter Classic will send the Flipoff Pirates to Wakarusa

Posted on January 28, 2013 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

Congratulations are in order for local band Flipoff Pirates. The group won a contest on Friday (Jan. 25) at George’s Majestic Lounge that will add them to the lineup for the Wakarusa festival, which takes place this summer on a mountainside in Franklin County.

The contest, the Waka Winter Classic, provides a chance for local bands in key markets to earn their way onto the lineup. The Pirates bested acts such as Cadillac Jackson and Groovement at Friday’s concert.

Congrats, and go make us proud.
