Rep. Charlie Collins bill to allow concealed carry permit holders to bring guns onto university and college campuses is set for presentation to the House Education Committee, which begins meeting at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Collins replied to a text and confirmed that he’s taking House Bill 1243 before the committee as planned.
The bill’s drawn a lot of opposition from university employees who were present in force at both Washington and Benton county legislative forums over the weekend. Then there was the unfortunate incident Friday when a UA student brought a gun to the university’s radio station and accidentally shot himself in the hand. Ought to make for an interesting discussion.
