Governor: National Guard, federal assistance arriving

“Everybody’s working” as fast as they can to restore power and clear roads in ice-stricken north Arkansas, but the scale of the task is massive, Gov. Mike Beebe said along with utility spokesmen at a conference with lawmakers that was also open to press and public this afternoon. Federal response has been swift and effective, Beebe said. About 100 portable generators are already arrived in Arkansas from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, he said. Beebe spoke with President Obama last night and conveyed the president’s concern and promise of swift action at today’s conference. Northwest lawmakers said they were pleased with the response and with the work of the governor’s office throughout the crisis so far. Beebe said he expected to inspect the damage by helicopter tomorrow but would make limited visits to avoid becoming a distraction during relief work.

What about Corning, AR? No one has mentioned this town. We have no water, no electric we are 100% DOWN. No National Gaurd, No FEMA, and def. not a Govenor. People are cant even buy gas gas to get out of town, and the ones that do make it out of town to buy things are paying through the nose for items that are needed. Why is no one helping us?
