Helmet law hearing today
Sen. Kim Hendren’s Senate Bill 29, which would require motorcycle riders to wear a helmet or carry lots of health insurance, is listed as a special order of business today in the Senate Transportation Committee.
Translation: A “special order of business” is mainly a scheduling thing. If a bill is considered controversial, a committee will often declare a “special order” mainly so everybody has a date certain in which to show up.
