Lincoln: A clear “No” on card check
Sen. Blanche Lincoln “cannot support” the employee free choice act, or “card check” in its current form nor can she support debating this “divisive and distracting” issue while Congress has a worldwide economic crisis to face and a health care system to reform among other priorities, she told the Little Rock Political Animals Club on Monday.
This was her clearest statement yet on the issue, she told the group. “The two groups we need at the table the most during this economic crisis are business and workers, and this is keeping them apart,” she said. The issue “creates division and distraction at a time when we need all hands on deck.”
“I cannot support it in its current form,” Lincoln said.
