It’s official: Cruelty bill to House Judiciary

The House officially transferred Senate Bill 77, the animal cruelty bill, to the House Judiciary Committee, this morning from the Agriculture and Economic Development Committee. This is seen as improving the bill’s chances despite the fact that Speaker Robbie Wills, D-Conway, said he expected the bill to get through either committee.

Special presidential primary marked for death

LITTLE ROCK — A bill to do away with the state’s separate presidential primary in February sailed through the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee this morning without a dissenting vote or questions from committee members.
