Senate Bill 77 by Sen. Sue Madison, D-Fayetteville, the anti-animal cruelty bill, passed the House 88 to 9 with one voting “present.” The Senate formally gets to send the bill to the governor, and it made preparations for that this afternoon. The House officially transferred Senate Bill 77, the animal cruelty bill, to the House Judiciary Committee, this morning from the Agriculture and Economic Development Committee. This is seen as improving the bill’s chances despite the fact that Speaker Robbie Wills, D-Conway, said he expected the bill to get through either committee.
