View PostWalton Arts Center discusses Rogers location
After nearly a decade in Fayetteville, the Arkansas Music Pavilion may be moving to Rogers, as our colleague Joel Walsh reported in last Friday’s Northwest Arkansas Times. The Walton Arts Center Council will meet on Tuesday (May 28) to discuss a site west of Interstate 540 in Rogers as a permanent location for the outdoor music facility. Plans have advanced a great deal since the last time the AMP’s permanent home was discussed in great detail — the arts center, the venue’s owner since 2009, now has architectural plans and more than 90 percent of the $11 million it would take to construct the proposed facility. All along, WAC officials have said the new location needs to be located near I-540

Neil Giraldo and Pat Benatar You probably know the songs, such as “Heartbreaker,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and “Love Is a Battlefield.” You probably also recall the hairstyles — big, fluffy things. And you may remember the other various excesses of the 1980s. Neil Giraldo, husband to and guitar player for Pat Benatar, remembers them well.
