Jon Davidson With influences including Awolnation and Passion Pit, songwriter Jon Davidson has recently adopted a more electro-pop feel to his music. That’s captured on his second solo album, “Tip of the Iceberg.” His tour in support of that record will bring him to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Rogers for a Thursday (May 16) night show. Old Crow Medicine Show Even without radio airplay (with their voices, anyway), I nearly guarantee you’ve heard an Old Crow Medicine Show song. It’s called “Wagon Wheel,” and it gets tossed around at campfire gatherings and covered by bar bands. Proof of that was recently verified — the song was certified as gold selling.

3 Penny Acre In British vernacular, a rag and bone shop is a type of flea market, the kind of place through which junk collectors hawk their wares For Bryan Hembree, the notion of collecting and repurposing what he finds has direct relationship to songwriting. He and his bandmates in 3 Penny Acre find bits of material, then assemble them into songs. That, and further inspiration from a William Butler Yeats poem, led 3 Penny Acre to the songs on their most recent recording, “Rag and Bone.” The group will throw an album release party on Sunday (April 14) at George’s Majestic Lounge. Hembree and bandmates Bernice Hembree and Bayard Blain have been busy since the 2010 release of their sophomore album, “Highway 71.” They performed songs in the TheatreSquared production “Sundown Town” and crossed the country on tour.

Ben Rector One-time Fayetteville resident Ben Rector is gaining fans all over, having sold out stops around the country and touring with the likes of Needtobreathe, which brought him to Fayetteville last fall. The piano pop artist returns for a pair of headlining dates on Wednesday and Thursday (March 27-28) at George’s Majestic Lounge. Both shows begin at 9 p.m.

Jason Crabb A last-minute donation staved off almost certain closure of the Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs. But that doesn’t mean the Passion Play, which uses live actors to tell the history of Jesus’ life, is flush with money. That’s the idea behind a benefit concert tonight (March 22) at The Auditorium in Eureka Springs. It will feature one of Christian music’s biggest stars.
