Soon in tunes: Mary Chapin Carpenter, March 2 at WAC

Mary Chapin Carpenter Hit songwriter and vocalist Mary Chapin Carpenter has earned both a dedicated fanbase — she’s sold more than 12 million records — and industry awards to match. The country musician behind such songs as “Down at the Twist and Shout,” “I Feel Lucky” and “Shut Up and Kiss Me,” will perform Saturday (March 2) at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. Fellow songwriter Shawn Colvin will join her for the night. Tickets are $26-$54 and are available by calling 443-5600 or via www.waltonartscenter.org.

A new music festival has been announced in Kansas City, and you’ll never guess who the headliners will be…

Posted on February 12, 2013 by Kevin Kinder in Entertainment, Tuned In No Comments

Lots of folks got excited when the inaugural Thunder on the Mountain country music festival was announced earlier this year. And that excitement is warranted in many ways — it’ll be headlined by Toby Keith and Luke Bryan, and organizers tell us the event will exceed the size of the sister festival Wakarusa, meaning in excess of 25,000 may attend. The three-day fest takes place from June 6-8 on Mulberry Mountain north of Ozark on Arkansas 23. Today comes word of a new music festival, which will take place about four hours away from that site
