The Besnard Lakes photo by Richard Lam Fresh off the release of their new album, April 2’s “Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO,” Canadian alt-rockers The Besnard Lakes are on a tour that will bring them to Fayetteville. In their 7.3 graded review (out of 10.0) of the new album, Pitchfork says the band members are not mere songwriters but “composers who create musical suites out of sweepingly melodic movements.” Joining for the Wednesday night set at The Lightbulb Club are fellow Canadian band Suuns. Admission is $8; the show begins at 9 p.m.

Bartin Memberg This is the kind of Black Friday deal I like. It combines staying in bed a little later, listening to music and avoiding the mall. Former Memphis Pencils member Martin Bemberg recently released a new EP under the name Bartin Memberg

I wrote a guide to the festival, if you’re curious. We also will write about one of the festival’s headliners, Leftover Salmon, but that won’t be until a little bit later today.
