On the way — Kip Moore, May 2 at Barnhill Arena

Click here to view the embedded video. Thanks to the University of Arkansas’ Headliner Concerts Committee, students won’t need to dip into their “Beer Money” to attend a concert by Kip Moore on May 2. Of course, there’s no beer allowed on campus anyway… The University of Arkansas’ Headliner Concerts Committee has a history of bringing in major artists to campus. Past performers include Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg (now Snoop Lion), Kid Cudi, Blake Shelton, John Mayer and The Roots

Ticket sale reminder: Thunder on the Mountain passes available on Dec. 11

Click here to view the embedded video. I suspect there will be plenty of “Red Solo Cup”s at the Thunder on the Mountain Music Festival, which will be headlined by Toby Keith. In case you’ve missed it (which means you haven’t been reading this blog frequently enough), Northwest Arkansas will soon be host to a major country music festival.

Wakarusa announces dates for 2013 festival

Click here to view the embedded video. It’s hard to capture the combination of chaos and beauty that is a major music festival, but this video does a really good job. Wakarusa returns to Arkansas in late May. It seems like we just got done with Harvest Festival

Soon in tunes: Clutch, July 11 at George’s

Clutch Shifting between punk, metal and the blues, the band Clutch offers a muscular interpretation of rock ’n’ roll. Although the group is without a major radio hit, the quartet has found a cult following in their 20 years of performing. The group will perform Wednesday night (July 11) at George’s Majestic Lounge with supporting acts Prong and Lionize. The show begins at 8 p.m.; admission is $19.
