Kris Allen Conway native and “American Idol” winner Kris Allen is currently on a tour called “Out Alive.” That’s particularly fitting considering the vocalist was injured in a car accident on New Year’s Day. Recuperated and back on the road, Allen will perform on Monday night (April 8) at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. Admission to the show is $15 and tickets are available through www.georgesmajesticlounge.com.

The fine folks over at Art Amiss have made another of their compilation albums available for download. If you’d like a sampler highlighting the Arkansas punk rock scene, this is a good place to start, including tracks from the band The Malls — who were active in the 1980s — to current (or current-ish) bands such as A+ Setup, Egyptr and more. Originally created in 2010, the collection, called “Arkansas Punk!,” was digitally rereleased on Monday (Jan. 7)

Rain, a Beatles tribute show, took to the stage at the Walton Arts Center on Monday (May 7) night. All photos by KEVIN KINDER, NWA Media When your chief complaint about a show is that it ended too quickly, you know you’ve had a fun time at the concert hall. Still, the idea that it could have been even a better show remains, although that may be one of personal opinion, rather than a generalized perception. Because when the Beatles tribute act Rain finished their two-hour set on Monday night at the Walton Arts Center, I left wanting more – more songs, certain songs (several of my favorite Beatles tunes were omitted from the evening) and a more enthusiastic response from the crowd.
