Wynonna Sappy sentiments abound in Christmas music. Just not during Wynonna’s interpretation of Christmastime sounds. The veteran vocalist and country music star (both as a solo artist and as a one half of the duo The Judds) has packed together a night full of upbeat Christmas tunes. She doesn’t have time to mope — instead, she’s thankful, she told me recently by phone

Late Monday night, Walmart confirmed what we learned yesterday, thanks to a comment by a reader: Carrie Underwood (May 29) and Aerosmith (May 30) will perform in Bud Walton Arena as a precursor to the company’s annual Shareholders’ meeting. Tickets (rather quietly) went up on Ticketmaster late Sunday night and were available to associates for free. Several who went through the process informed me the ticket-getting procedure was quick and painless, if you were an associate in the know. Loretta Lynn
Country icon Loretta Lynn has been performing since 1960 and has charted many hits such as “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and “Fist City.” She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988. She did take a break from touring a few months ago to recover from knee surgery, and postponed a few performances in the process, including a September date in Fayetteville. She’s back on the road, however, and she visits the Walton Arts Center on Thursday (Feb. 16). Tickets for the September date will be honored. Otherwise, tickets are sold out. The show starts at 7 p.m.
We’ll see you at the show.
