Cecil Cleo Bowling
PRAIRIE GROVE — Cecil Cleo Bowling, 94, of Prairie Grove died Sept. 29, 2009, at his home. He was born July 26, 1915, in Prairie View to James and Telitha Rhine Bowling.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Prairie Grove, where he served as an usher. He was a charter member of the Prairie Grove Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 2001; his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Cuba Bowling; two sisters, Goldie Shepley and Geneva Higginbotham; and one brother, Otis Bowling.
Survivors include one son, Jimmie Bowling and wife, JoAnn, of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren, David Bowling and his wife, Cynthia, of Vilonia, Jim Bowling Jr. and his wife, Gay, of Conway, Laura Quicksall and her husband, James, of North Little Rock, Doug Bowling and his wife, Lisa, of Moundville, Mo., Eddie Bowling and his wife, Ginger, of Tontitown, Gary Bowling and his wife, Christie, of Bentonville, and Traci Hartin and her husband, Chris, of Prairie Grove; 18 greatgrandchildren, Carolyn Bowling Jez and her husband, Daniel, of Massachusetts, Joshua Bowling and his wife, Virginia, of Massachusetts, Shana Bowling Touton and her husband, Justin, of Massachusetts, Zachary and Jacob Bowling of Vilonia, Craig and Callie Bowling of Conway, Christopher Quicksall of North Little Rock, Candace Bowling Dyer and her husband, Joshua, of Moundville, Mo., Dennis Bowling and his wife, Wendy, of Moundville, Hayden, Gracie and Noah Bowling of Tontitown, Chanse and Catherine Bowling of Bentonville, Bradley, Mattie and Taylor Hartin of Prairie Grove; six great-great-grandchildren, Elijah and Keagan Jez, Chayton Bowling and Jonas Touton, all of Massachusetts, Lucas Bowling and Tegan Dyer of Moundville, Mo.
Service were held Oct. 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Prairie Grove, with Matthew Johnson and Ernest DeSoto officiating. Burial was in the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove.

Pallbearers were David Bowling, Doug Bowling, Gary Bowling, Jim Bowling Jr., Eddie Bowling, Dennis Bowling and Chris Hartin.

Raymond Travis West
PRAIRIE GROVE — Raymond “Ray” Travis West, 73, a resident of Prairie Grove, died Oct. 2, 2009, at Springdale Health and Rehab in Springdale.Ray was born Nov. 26, 1935, in Sudan, Texas, to Dudley Raymond and Vera Eaton West and grew up in Lincoln and in Los Angeles County, California.
He graduated from Bell High School in 1955 at Bell, Calif., and served in the Army in Germany from 1958-60. He retired from Bethlehem Steel in California in 1975 and moved his family to Arkansas in 1975. In 2001 he retired from Franklin Electric in Siloam Springs. Ray was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Vera West of Lincoln, and a sister, Sybil Howard of Lincoln.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda; two sons, Wayne West of Prairie Grove and Neil West and wife, Karen, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a granddaughter, Emily West of Ocean Springs; a grandson, Joseph Humphreys of New Orleans; and a sister, Clara Reed of Farmington.
The family would like to thank the fellowship of First Baptist Church of Lincoln for their support and kindness as well as thank the staff at Springdale Health and Rehab for their compassion and care given to Ray.
Services were held Oct. 6 at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln with Harold Leo Reed officiating. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery near Morrow.

Ken Branstetter
FARMINGTON — Kenneth Wayne Branstetter, 61, of Farmington died Sept. 29, 2009, at Fayetteville Health & Reh abilitation Center. He was born Aug. 29, 1948, at Cameron, Okla., to Leo Neal and Dovie Lee Walker Branstetter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Connor Robbins; his parents; a brother, Neal Branstetter; and a niece, Tammy Gottlieb.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, Two Loops and Expert Rifle Medal. He was a member of Farmington Baptist Church.
He was an employee of the Walmart Distribution Center. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed war movies and John Wayne Westerns.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Spillars Branstetter, whom he married Aug. 19, 1976; a son, Kenneth W. Branstetter II of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Dawn Robbins Williams of Elkins; a brother, Harold Ray Branstetter of Oklahoma City; a sister, Linda Withey of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 2 at Moore’s Chapel, with the Rev. Preston Beeks officiating.
Burial was in Farmington Cemetery.

Bob Folsom
FAYETTEVILLE — James Robert Folsom, 54, of Fayetteville died Oct. 4, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1955, in the Panama Canal Zone to James Rayford and Veva Sasse Folsom.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, and taught fifth grade in Farmington schools for 20 years. He received numerous recognitions for teaching including two teacher-of-the-year awards and having Bob Folsom Elementary School named in his honor in 2008.
He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Folsom, and a sister, Mary Stalvey.
Survivors include his wife, Joey Folsom; a son, Rusty Folsom of Fayetteville; three daughters, Amber Walker of Fayetteville, Nell Sisco and husband, Steve, of Fayetteville, Tabitha Christensen and husband, Leathan, of Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; his mother, Veva Folsom of the home; one sister, Faye Morris of Forest Park, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Drew Blackburn, Lexi Walker, Maris Sisco, Mattox Sisco.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at University Baptist Church, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel. A private burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Maureen Janice Cargill
ELKINS — Maureen Janice Cargill, 76, of Elkins died Sept. 29, 2009, at her home. She was born Oct. 12, 1933, in Grand Island, Neb., to George Bradley and Jackie Keptle Bradley.
She was a homemaker and attended Covenant Word Ministry.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel L. Cargill of Elkins and Timmy L. Cargill of Huntsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon K. and Ed Mount of Elkins; two grandsons and their wives, Eddie and June Mount of Prairie Grove, and Daniel and Allta Cargill of Elkins; one brother, Bob Bradley of California; three sisters, Patty and Ken Sweeney, Kathy Bradley and Jenni Bradley, all of California; 12 grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Kerry Wade Carter
PRAIRIE GROVE — Kerry Wade Carter, 39, of Prairie Grove died Sept. 30, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Nov. 6, 1969, in Fayetteville to Linard and Patricia Slaughter Carter. Kerry served in the Navy during the Gulf War as a heavy equipment operator.
He worked for the University of Arkansas as a master plumber.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Clark, maternal grandparents, Lub and Virginia Slaughter; and paternal grandparents, Frank and Vera Carter.
Survivors include one son, Kody Carter, and one daughter, Katy Carter, both of Booneville; his father, Linard Carter and wife, Bettie of Prairie Grove; his mother, Patricia Clark of Prairie Grove; one brother, Kevin Carter and wife, Tracy, of Prairie Grove; one sister, Kimberly Pinkley and husband, Donald, of Prairie Grove; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 3 at the First Baptist Church in Prairie Grove, with burial in Rose Cemetery near Viney Grove.
Pallbearers were Kary Reed, Jason Skelton, Blake Sargent, Gary Dick, Mike Witherspoon, Jeff Slocum, Shawn Carlton, Brent Johnson and Windy Holland.

Wilma Dean Whiteley
ROGERS — Wilma Dean Whiteley, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2009, at her home in Rogers. She was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Hepler, Kan., to Leslie and Anna Gregory.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Rogers and the wife of John F. Whiteley, who was a pastor in the northwest Arkansas area for 36 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Whiteley, and one son, Gary Whiteley.
Survivors include Gary’s wife, Jerry Ann Whiteley of Springdale; one son, Grady Whiteley and his wife, Teresa, of Wesley; two daughters, Deanna Walker of Rogers, and Melesa Daugherty and husband, David, of Rogers; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 3 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was at Dutch Mills Cemetery near Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice or First Baptist Church of Rogers.
Goldie Campbell
WINSLOW — Goldie Campbell, 58, of Winslow died Oct. 3, 2009, in Winslow. She was born March 21, 1951, in Winslow to Orval and Dovie Hampton Perry.
Survivors include her husband, William D. Campbell; a son, Mark Christison of Lincoln; two daughters, Christine Campbell and Brenda Reed, both of Winslow; two stepsons, William A. Campbell of Winslow and Peter Campbell of Oklahoma City; six brothers; seven sisters; eight grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Brentwood Community Building.

Tony Ray Mongold
WITTER — Tony Ray Mongold, 84, of Witter died Sept. 29, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born May 11, 1925, at Cove City to Andy and Tishey Bryant Mongold.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Crawley Mongold; a son, Wayne Mongold of Huntsville; two daughters, Carol Cook of Little Rock and Peggy Mongold of Huntsville; a sister, Fay Jones of Prairie Grove; and three grandchildren.
Private services and burial will be held in Ogden Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville.
